Ways to remove paint from glass

There are a couple of methods we can use to remove paint from glass, firstly let it dry. It will be a lot easier to remove and it isn't going to cause further issues on the glass. There are two options, first, you can use a solvent cleaner to remove the paint. Secondly and the method we use as a professional window cleaning service is to use a scraper blade to remove the dry paint one stroke at a time.

The solvent/ Chemical method

You will require some warm soapy water, a razor blade, and a soft cloth. Before you begin you should apply the soapy water to the glass, this will help prevent any scratching when removing the paint.

When you have wet the glass you can take your scraper at a 40-degree angle and simply glide up the window in straight lines lifting the blade from the glass and wiping it clean after each pass. This will stop any removed paint from getting stuck between the blade and the glass which could cause scratches. Repeat this process until all of the paint has been removed from the glass.

When you are finished give the glass a wipe down with a cloth and rinse well.
